Tomorrow marks the first day of April, which means that there are only four weeks of class left! For me, this is both a crazy time and a good time, as I know that there is an end in sight for all of the homework, projects, and papers that are seemingly due all around the same time. So while it might seem like there is no stop to the amount of work to be done in the upcoming weeks, I can rest assured knowing it will all soon end.
This doesn't necessarily mean I want to go home or anything. Rather, I just would like to have a break time where I don't have any work to do. When you have meetings, class, a job and then work on top of that, it can all get to be a little overwhelming. But now that I have a countdown (not a literal countdown, but a mental countdown...I didn't actually write it out or anything!), I don't have to feel as though my crazy life is always going to be crazy.
So, as the next four weeks go by, I will both cherish them and anticipate their ending. When they end, I go home for a few months, away from my friends. However, this also means NO MORE WORK! Really, it is all very bittersweet, but nonetheless an exciting and certainly busy time. With that said, I wish all others luck as they too deal with the next four weeks!

I miss the carefree days of summer when school was finished. My countdown now is until all my kids are finished their own schoolyears. Summer means everyone is home and I have much more work to do.
Although there is a brief overlap bewteen college dismissal in May and my children's in June. A month when I'm out of school and they're still in. That's my break
I definitely agree about the ending being bittersweet. I think I'm just as excited as you are at the prospect of not being completely bogged down with work, but I am also very sad that not a single one of my new, amazing friends lives anywhere close to me. I'm just hoping that we will all manage to stay in touch!
Break?
Not so much. My wonderful grad advisor has signed me up for 2 summer classes (both in seperate sessions), I am taking the PRAXIS (SATs for people who want to Teach), and I am taking a CLEP exam so I dont have to bother with paying the school to take Survey of American Lit (sorry to anyone who actually enjoys American Lit. I despise it - well, most of it).
So I envy all those who get to go home and have a summer vacation. I will just bask in the glory of knowing that in 2 years I will be teacher, and while all of you have real jobs with no summer breaks, I will have my summers off!
I'm glad that the semester is almost over as well. Unfortunately I have the same advisor as Lyssa and this summer I am taking English Grammar, Summer Practicum and Teachers and Technology. I'm probably not going to have the best summer but I'll be closer to graduating so its worth it.
i'm so excited for summer. I'm speding the first 5 weeks in fort lauderdale, florida, living with my aunt and uncle. i will be shadowing an anesthesiologiest and helping out with some research at jackson memorial hospital. it should be awesome (at least i hope). then i come home in mid june to commence babysitting two 9 year olds for the rest of the summer - depends on the day how much i enjoy doing that, but they're pretty easy to watch. basically i'm very anxious for summer!
